---Safari Nation Winston-Salem is located at 3191 Peters Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27127, USA. Peters Creek Parkway is a significant roadway in Winston-Salem, making the amusement center fairly accessible for residents within the city and surrounding areas in Forsyth County and the wider Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. The park is situated within a commercial area, which typically offers parking convenience.
The location on Peters Creek Parkway means that it is generally easy to reach by car from various parts of Winston-Salem and nearby towns like Clemmons, Kernersville, and High Point. For families driving to the facility, directions are usually straightforward, leading directly to the premises within a shopping center or similar complex. Ample parking is typically available in such commercial settings, which is beneficial for parents managing young children.
While public transportation options in suburban areas like this may not be as extensive as in major downtown cores, the primary mode of transport for families visiting such entertainment venues is often by private vehicle. The ease of vehicular access to Safari Nation contributes to its appeal as a convenient destination for local outings and planned events.
It is worth noting that one customer review indicated concerns about the immediate surrounding area, mentioning "panhandlers outside" and "homeless individuals digging thru trash in the parking lot" during a weekday early afternoon visit. While individual experiences can vary, it is important for visitors to be aware of their surroundings. Despite this, the park's internal environment aims to provide a contained and fun experience.
---Safari Nation Winston-Salem offers a variety of services and attractions primarily geared towards providing active indoor fun for younger children.
Open Play General Admission: Provides access to the main play areas for a set duration or until closing. Admission prices typically apply to children aged 2-12, with discounted rates for additional siblings and free admission for accompanying parents/adults (who are assisting and not actively playing on equipment).
Indoor Play Structures: The core of the amusement center features a large "jungle gym" with multi-level platforms, "several slides," and elements like a "mirror maze" and "monkey bars." This expansive soft play structure allows children to climb, explore, and slide.
Bounce House: A dedicated inflatable bounce house provides a soft and fun area for jumping. Reviews indicate this area is often designated for "4 years and under only," catering specifically to very young children.
Toddler Play Area: Safari Nation includes specific "areas that are for 4-year-olds and younger." These zones are appreciated by parents of toddlers, offering a safer and more manageable space for their youngest children to play, away from the older, more energetic kids.
Zip Line: A thrilling feature that allows kids to experience a zip line ride within the indoor facility. Reviews confirm this is an exciting highlight for many children, often included with general admission and operated during specific timings.
Arcade Games: A section dedicated to arcade games provides additional entertainment. These games typically require a separate purchase of a game card at a kiosk. Reviews indicate a portion of the facility is allocated to these "pay-to-play" machines.
Birthday Party Hosting: Safari Nation is presented as an "excellent place for a birthday party." They offer various birthday party packages which usually include dedicated party rooms, access to the play areas, and potentially other amenities. Some locations also allow outside food and drinks for parties, but it's crucial to confirm this with the Winston-Salem location directly as policies can vary.
Concessions: The facility sells "concessions, including slushies," for refreshments. It is explicitly stated that they "do not allow any outside food or drinks" for general admission guests.
Socks Policy: Regular socks are permitted for wear on the play floor for both children and adults. There is no requirement to purchase specific "brand" socks, which is a convenience for visitors. Socks are required for play.
Discounted Admission: The park sometimes offers promotions such as "$2 off if you go within the last 2 hours of closing," providing an opportunity for savings.
Safari Nation Winston-Salem offers several features and highlights that contribute to its appeal as an indoor amusement center for families in North Carolina, though it's important to consider all aspects from customer feedback.
Ideal for Younger Children and Toddlers: A major highlight is its suitability for "younger kids," particularly those "4-year-olds and younger," with dedicated play areas. Parents with children aged "7 year old and 3 year old" noted that both had "so much fun" and wanted to "stay until close," indicating its broad appeal within that younger age range. The specific "2 areas that are for 4-year-olds and younger" are greatly "appreciated" by parents with toddlers, providing a safer and less overwhelming environment.
Excellent Option for Cold or Rainy Days: As an indoor facility, it's an "absolutely perfect place for younger kids on a cold or rainy day." This makes it a consistent and reliable option for active play regardless of the unpredictable North Carolina weather.
Variety of Engaging Attractions: The park offers "a zip line, arcade, bounce house, several slides, and so much!" This variety keeps children entertained for extended periods. The "maze of a playground" with its "jungle gym" and "zip line (which they did over and over...and over)" were particular hits with children aged "6 & 8."
Friendly Staff (Positive Experiences): Multiple positive reviews highlight the staff being "super friendly and nice," and "a delight to deal with," describing them as "smiling, happy and just had a good vibe about her." This positive interaction significantly enhances the visitor experience.
Cleanliness and Seating for Adults: The facility is noted for being "really clean and lots of seating for adults." This provides a comfortable environment for parents to relax while their children play, and the "well lit" space allows for good visibility.
No Loud Music: The absence of "loud music" is a distinct advantage for parents who want to "easily talk and hear my friends I was visiting with," fostering a more relaxed and social atmosphere for adults.
Birthday Party Potential: It's considered an "excellent place for a birthday party," suggesting it has the capacity and appeal for organized celebrations, making it a viable option for local parents planning events.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge some significant concerns raised by other customer reviews. These include:
Maintenance and Upkeep Issues: Several reviews describe the place as "run down," "unkempt, outdated, and unsanitary." Specific issues mentioned are "holes knotted together with random pieces of string" in safety netting, "broken" target blasters, "dark (light bulbs out)" and "bad smelled" restrooms, and broken items from vending machines.
Safety and Security Concerns: Concerns were raised about a "lack of security measures to prevent a child from leaving with someone else (wrist bands/stamps/etc)" and "front doors were not being watched." This is a serious concern for parent supervision.
Staff Behavior (Negative Experiences): In contrast to positive reviews, some accounts describe employees as "very rude," "showing no concern when a child was hurt," and "mostly being on their phone or in the back."
Value and Pricing: Some visitors found the pricing "overpriced" at "$15 for a 3 year old" given the perceived "state of things" and the fact that "non-slip socks" were an "additional $3" despite slick floors (though other reviews stated regular socks are allowed and no purchase required, indicating a potential policy change or inconsistency).
Limited Age Appeal: While great for younger kids, the overall variety and condition of attractions might lead to older children (above 8-10) finding it less engaging compared to other, larger amusement centers. The play area for older kids is described as "very big and has a few different places to enter/exit and a lot of blind spots from the parents area."

Safari Nation Winston-Salem Reviews
Absolutely perfect place for younger kids on a cold or rainy day! Would be an excellent place for a birthday party as well! The staff were super friendly and nice! My 7 year old and 3 year old wanted to stay until close. They had so much fun! There is a zip line, arcade, bounce house, several slides, and so much! It was really clean and lots of seating for adults. They do not allow any outside food or drinks but do sell concessions, including slushies. We were able to wear regular socks and did not have to purchase their brand. They said its $2 off if you go within the last 2 hours of closing. It's definitely a great place for play dates or even just a day out with the kids. They will have so much fun! There is no loud music so I could easily talk and hear my friends I was visiting with. Also, the place is well lit, so you can see pretty well. There are 2 areas that are for 4-year-olds and younger, which I appreciated, having a 3-year-old child. An excellent place to visit with younger kids and my kids were already begging to go back again on the drive home!
Jan 08, 2024 · S GiesekingOverpriced and run down.Stopped by this location for a break while traveling thru the area and was very disappointed. The business is not located in a safe/family-friendly part of town - there were panhandlers outside when we went in (weekday early afternoon) and multiple homeless individuals digging thru trash in the parking lot when we left.We were not greeted when we came inside. There were no security measures to prevent a child from leaving with someone else (wrist bands/stamps/etc) or to see who had paid admission, which was very concerning after seeing the front doors were not being watched. We waited several minutes without seeing an employee, completed the waiver upfront, and waited several more minutes without being able to find an employee before just letting ourselves into the play area. It was 5-10 minutes after that before I was able to find a staff member and ask to pay for admission. It was $15 for a 3 year old which seemed high given the state of things. This admission does not include non-slip socks (additional $3) despite the play area having slick linoleum floor. The employees we did interact with were very rude - showing no concern when a child was hurt and mostly being on their phone or in the back.Half of the location was a pay-to-play arcade. The other half included a jungle gym, a couple slides, a bounce house (4 years and under only), and a toddler play area.Overall, the whole place seemed unkept, outdated, and unsanitary. Several areas of the safety netting were in poor repair (holes knotted together with random pieces of string). The target blasters in the jungle gym were broken and unable to be used. The restrooms were dark (light bulbs out) and smelled bad. We bought 2 items from the toy vending machine located by the doors and 1 came out of the machine broken.Would not recommend and we won't be back.
Jun 23, 2025 · Abbe WorkmanNot a bad place for a smaller kids birthday party. It seems a bit lower budget than the trampoline parks and smaller in size. I'm not sure the cost as we were there with a party but I figure it's cheaper than the trampoline parks. If so it's not bad for smaller kids. The place looks neat and clean. Some of the parts look a little worn or are not working properly in the jungle gym area.
Dec 12, 2023 · Shawn JessupIf you plan to bring a child under 4 and an older one, it’s hard to keep an eye on the older one if you stay in the toddler play area. The older kids play area is very big and has a few different places to enter/exit and a lot of blind spots from the parents area. This place definitely suits older children best. I saw one men and women’s restroom, and the women’s only had one changing table. So if you’re bringing children in diapers/pull ups, expect to wait for access to it. They have a sign posted about being short staffed; overall they’re doing okay with what they’re working with. But I wouldn’t go back for this price point with children under 5.
Aug 06, 2023 · JoAmber DezonnoI have been in all Safari Nation in the Triad and love them all. We recently had my daughter's birthday party at the Winston-Salem location. I will say they birthday packages are good prices. The staff is very friendly and attentive. You can tell they care about the kids. They are constantly cleaning the place and always willing to answer any question. It's a well managed environment!
