Krieg Athletic Complex Introduce
Howdy, fellow Texans! When it comes to embracing our active outdoor lifestyle, few places in Austin offer the sheer scope and dedication to sports as the Krieg Athletic Complex. Located conveniently on South Pleasant Valley Road in the 78741 zip code, Krieg is widely recognized as Austin's premier destination for competitive and recreational league play, particularly for softball, flag football, and sand volleyball. It's more than just a park; it's a bustling hub where athletes of all skill levels come together to compete, train, and enjoy the camaraderie of team sports.
Krieg Athletic Complex stands as a testament to Austin's vibrant sports community. Maintained by the City of Austin, this facility plays a crucial role in providing top-notch grounds for numerous adult and youth sports leagues throughout the year. It's a place where rivalries are forged, skills are honed, and countless memorable plays unfold under the Texas sky. For those of us who live and breathe sports, or simply enjoy watching a good game, Krieg offers a consistent schedule of events and leagues to participate in or observe.
Beyond the competitive aspect, Krieg Athletic Complex also contributes to the overall well-being of the community by fostering physical activity and social interaction. It's a space where locals can connect through shared passions, stay active, and enjoy the benefits of organized sports. While one review noted that upkeep "could be better," the overall consensus points to a well-utilized and appreciated facility that is vital to Austin's athletic landscape.
Krieg Athletic Complex is strategically located at 515 S Pleasant Valley Rd, Austin, TX 78741, USA. This East Austin address places it conveniently close to major roadways, making it highly accessible for residents across the city and surrounding areas. Pleasant Valley Road itself is a significant artery that connects to other key routes, allowing for relatively smooth travel to and from the complex.
A significant advantage highlighted by local users is the "tons of parking" available at Krieg Athletic Complex. For a facility that hosts numerous teams and spectators for leagues and tournaments, ample parking is absolutely crucial, significantly enhancing the visitor experience and reducing stress upon arrival. This is a considerable benefit compared to many other urban athletic facilities that might struggle with parking limitations.
The complex's location also offers an additional perk: it is situated "across the street" from "a beautiful Riverside Park." This proximity means that visitors to Krieg can easily extend their outing to include a more leisurely park experience along the Colorado River, perhaps for a post-game cool-down, a family picnic, or just to enjoy the natural surroundings. This combination of dedicated athletic facilities and adjacent green space enhances the overall appeal and accessibility of the area for Texans looking for diverse outdoor activities. Its position in East Austin also makes it a central hub for sports activities in that part of the city.

Krieg Athletic Complex Reviews
Could be better upkeep of the park.
Jun 05, 2025 · Mr. Car11 Fantastic softball fields, maintained by the City of Austin. There's tons of parking. Across the street is a beautiful Riverside Park.
Nov 16, 2019 · Paul ElmerKrieg fields is a nice softball complex, fields are well taken care of, the complex includes a soccer/football field, sand volleyball courts, and a kickball field. The picture seen is of a power line tower across the street on the hike and bike trail that features graffiti art.
Nov 15, 2018 · MJ ZunigaThe fields are always been kept in good shape, but all of the Porta-Potties throughout the complex have been DISGUSTING for over FOUR MONTHS now, with NO toilet paper EVER! There is a significant water leak in the sink by Field 6 that's wasting about a gallon per hour. The PP contractor needs to be fired immediately!
Dec 28, 2021 · Lance NThe park is very nice but several of the employees are rude and don't have a clue or care about helping disabled/handicapped people enjoy the park. I met another one tonight. Said her name is Geneva and tried to lecture me on why I couldn't park where it was easier to see the games. She acts like the policeman of the park. Just rude and stupid. I'll be calling her boss tomorrow am. Otherwise it's an ok place. Pops White !
