Ripley's Believe It or Not! Williamsburg is an excellent tourist attraction perfectly suited for locals in Virginia, offering a distinctive blend of entertainment, education, and pure oddity right in their backyard. While Williamsburg is renowned for its historical sites, Ripley's provides a refreshing change of pace and a unique indoor activity that appeals to a wide demographic, regardless of the weather.
For Virginia families looking for "something affordable and entertaining to do without having to drive too far," Ripley's hits the mark. The price point of "around $60 for the 3 of us" makes it a more accessible entertainment option compared to larger theme parks, offering significant value for a roughly two-hour experience of exploration and interaction. This affordability is a key factor for local residents seeking regular outings that don't break the bank.
The museum's content, appreciated by "adults and kids who appreciate history," provides a fascinating delve into historical oddities and bizarre facts. For those who enjoy reading and learning, the "item descriptions" offer depth to the exhibits. While some might find it "boring" if "not a fan of history," the interactive elements like the "spinning tunnel" and "laser games" ensure there's engaging fun even for those less inclined towards historical facts. This balance caters to diverse family interests, allowing different members to find what fascinates them most.
The mix of indoor exhibits and the "adorable" outdoor mini-golf course provides versatility, making it a viable option for various weather conditions common in Virginia. This allows locals to enjoy the attraction throughout the year, whether it's a hot summer day or a cooler afternoon. The staff's reputation for being "so friendly and easily approached with questions" further enhances the local appeal, fostering a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits.
While a review noted issues with "card readers down" affecting photo booths and games, and highlighted some "morbid" material requiring parental discretion, these are minor considerations within an overwhelmingly positive experience. The opportunity to "KEEP CURIOUSITY ALIVE" and "lose yourself in the mirror maze" speaks to the unique and memorable experience offered. For Virginians seeking to broaden their horizons with fascinating, unbelievable, and often amusing exhibits, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Williamsburg remains a highly suitable and cherished local attraction.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! Williamsburg Reviews
My family and I were looking for something affordable and entertaining to do without having to drive too far and we landed on Ripley’s. It was around $60 for the 3 of us.This place is perfect for adults and kids who appreciate history. We took about 2 hours to get through the entire thing but we stopped to read a lot of the item descriptions. Majority of the exhibit is odd artifacts throughout history with a few games for the kids scattered throughout (maybe around 5). If you’re not a fan of history this might be boring to you and you might finish pretty quickly. I’ve been to other Ripleys and this one is not bad in comparison just smaller. Once you get towards the end there is a little bit more to interact with. We really enjoyed the spinning tunnel and the laser games.Make sure to bring change/cash in case their card readers are down like they were today. We weren’t able to take photos in the Photo Booth or play the shooting dinosaur game due to this. I should also mention that depending on your family and style of parenting, some of the material was morbid. There was a part of the museum where a life size man was hanging from his chest with blood dripping down while it spun in circles.Overall we made the best of it and had a pretty good time.

The staff is so friendly and easily approached with questions regarding their brand! Go and find out what taboo you are fascinated by and lose yourself in the mirror maze!
Jun 25, 2025 · Krystal PetersonOn vacation with family and stumbled upon this nearby place, was extremely impressed with the number of fascinating exhibits and interactive games for the kids! I would've stayed a lot longer if my kids weren't so impatient. 😍👍 Great value of entertainment for around $20.
Jan 14, 2025 · Desiree MoyersWas sad the “ Tongue “ replay machine was broken. Wish they had more interactive items. Looks like they are doing improvement but slowly. Overall fun but would not go back.
Jun 06, 2025 · CCB CCBFor roughly the price of a movie ticket nowadays - this place is a blast! Lots of interesting exhibits and interactive features. My wife will hate that I posted this video, but I couldn't help myself! (Lol)
