---IK Gymnastics (Gym B) provides a comprehensive suite of gymnastics programs and services, carefully designed to cater to a broad spectrum of ages and skill levels, emphasizing safe and systematic development.
Early Age Programs:
- Parent-Tot Classes (20 months - 3.5 years): These classes require a parent or caregiver to accompany the child, introducing very young learners to basic gymnastics concepts, equipment, and gym rules in a fun, exploratory, and largely "open gym" style setting.
- IK Kids Classes (3-5 years): Designed for preschoolers, these structured classes take place in a "mini-gym" specifically for the program, focusing on foundational gymnastics skills, strength building, gross motor skills, and general coordination, preparing them for more advanced levels.
Girls Gymnastics:
- Girls Beginner Classes (5+ years): These non-competitive classes are offered in multiple levels (Beginner 1, 2, 3) and are designed to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics. Students work on strength, balance, and flexibility, practicing skills on all four artistic apparatuses: floor, vault, bars, and beam. Progression is systematic, moving to the next level by coach recommendation or whole-class testing.
- Intermediate Levels: Following the beginner levels, there are typically three levels of intermediate instruction, continuing to build on skills and prepare gymnasts for more complex routines.
Boys Gymnastics (5+ years): Similar to the girls' program, these classes introduce boys to fundamental gymnastics skills and apparatus, focusing on strength, agility, and body control. (Note: Some information indicates Boys Gymnastics at Gym A, but as a general sports complex offering, it's relevant to mention.)
Trampoline Classes (Co-ed, 6+ years): Dedicated classes focusing on trampoline skills, incorporating jumps, twists, and flips, providing a fun way to develop aerial awareness and coordination.
Competitive Gymnastics: While specific competitive programs (e.g., USAG levels or Xcel) are typically offered, the gym's philosophy centers on preparing athletes for competitive success through fundamental understanding and systematic progression. This commitment to higher-level training is implied by the presence of experienced coaches and the "strong athletes" developed.
Open Gyms / Play Time: (While not explicitly detailed for Gym B specifically, many gymnastics facilities offer these.) These sessions often allow for unstructured practice, exploration, and free play on the equipment under supervision, providing additional opportunities for skill development and fun.
Camps: Many gymnastics centers offer seasonal camps (e.g., Summer Camps, Holiday Camps) to provide intensive training or recreational fun during school breaks.

Emphasis on Safe and Systematic Skill Progression: A paramount highlight, frequently praised by parents, is the gym's commitment to safety and methodical teaching. "They aren't doing skills that their bodies aren't ready for," which is "really appreciate." This systematic approach ensures that children build a strong foundation, reducing the risk of injury and fostering long-term athletic development. This philosophy is rooted in the deep understanding that fundamental skills are building blocks for more advanced techniques.

This consistent feedback underscores the positive and supportive environment cultivated by the coaching and administrative team. Knowledgeable coaches, often high-level athletes themselves, are regularly trained to stay current with evolving trends, ensuring quality instruction and fostering mentally, physically, and emotionally stable gymnasts.

IK Gymnastics (Gym B) Reviews
My daughter has been doing gymnastics at IK for almost three years now. My other daughter did classes for about a year before deciding gymnastics wasn't here thing. My son did classes there in the younger room and then transitioned to the older class. We love this gym. Yes it is pricier than some other places. However, I feel like my children have always been taught in a safe, systematic way. They aren't doing skills that their bodies aren't ready for which I really appreciate. Everyone who works at IK is so nice and friendly. My daughter has been lucky to make friends in every class she's been in and is always excited to go to gymnastics. Overall we've had a great experience and it has helped my children to be strong athletes in other sports too.
Mar 21, 2025 · Jodi BohlIf your kid has ADHD, good luck not getting kicked out. Their young instructors are not equipped to handle these kids and will be sending them to time out every lesson you pay good money for.
Mar 05, 2025 · Alex VarletI enrolled my daughter here for a few schedules/sessions and it was an experience. The staff here is very supportive and friendly but it’s the nature/pettiness of some of the parents. We spread out to watch our kids through the glass (outside) and no matter where I stood I always found a mom who wanted to stand right in front of me! And some of the little girls in my daughter’s class didn’t hesitate to whisper and point among each other when it was time for her to go up in front. Diversity is important but not at the expense of my child’s happiness.
Apr 12, 2022 · LynnMy daughter very much enjoys training at IK. The staff are very friendly, the coaches are solid, and the facility is nice / comfortable for the parents watching their kids practice. The head coaches have a healthy mentality towards the kids, focusing on the long-term progression and engagement of the child first rather than just winning medals. Overall very happy with our experience there.
Aug 02, 2019 · Shirley LauOur family has been at IK for a year (camps, team, and weekly classes) and we are so happy with it! It is always so organized and my kids have loved all their coaches!
