This isn't just any patch of concrete; it's a dedicated outdoor space that provides a dynamic and welcoming environment for enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to practice their tricks, hone their skills, and connect with a like-minded community. Locals consistently praise its well-maintained concrete surface and the friendly atmosphere that pervades the park. Whether you're looking to perfect an ollie, cruise through transition, or simply enjoy a day outdoors with your board or bike, Stroudsburg Skateboard Park offers a fantastic opportunity to do just that, right here in the heart of Pennsylvania. It's a testament to the thriving action sports culture within the state, providing a vital public amenity for countless individuals.
The Stroudsburg Skateboard Park is conveniently located in Stroudsburg, PA 18360, USA. While the precise street address within Stroudsburg is generally understood by locals to be part of the broader Stroudsburg Borough Park (specifically, it's known to be at Dansbury Park, near Stroudsburg High School), its central location within the borough makes it highly accessible for residents of Stroudsburg and surrounding communities in Monroe County. Ample parking is typically available in proximity to public parks, ensuring a hassle-free visit for those driving to the park. Its integration into a municipal park setting means it's often within easy reach, allowing for spontaneous visits or planned sessions. This accessibility is a key factor in its popularity, enabling a wide range of individuals to utilize and enjoy this valuable community resource without extensive travel. The park's presence within a well-known local area means finding it is rarely an issue for those familiar with Stroudsburg.
As a public outdoor facility, the Stroudsburg Skateboard Park primarily offers an open-access space for unmonitored recreational use. While it may not provide formal "services" in the commercial sense, its offerings revolve around fostering a vibrant skating community and providing a dedicated, maintained space.
Free Public Access: One of the most significant "services" is its free admission. As a public park amenity, it allows anyone to come and skate without cost, making it an inclusive and accessible option for youth and adults alike.
Designated Skating Zone: It provides a purpose-built area specifically designed for skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX biking. This ensures a safe and appropriate environment away from pedestrian traffic or other park activities. Note that some public skateparks might have rules against scooters or mountain bikes, so it's always good to be aware of local regulations.
Community Hub: The park serves as an informal gathering place for skaters. Users often experience a respectful and helpful atmosphere, fostering a sense of community where individuals can share tips, learn from one another, and enjoy the sport together. This social aspect is a huge draw for many regulars.
Outdoor Recreation Opportunity: It provides an excellent avenue for outdoor physical activity. Users can enjoy fresh air and exercise while engaging in a sport they love, which is particularly appealing during good weather.
Informal Spectator Space: The perimeter, possibly including features like "sidewalk inside the perimeter of the fence" as mentioned by a reviewer, can serve as a space for parents, friends, or curious onlookers to watch the action, adding to its community appeal.
The Stroudsburg Skateboard Park, while perhaps not as expansive or modern as some larger, privately funded parks, boasts several key features and highlights that make it a local favorite.
Concrete Surface: A major highlight mentioned by customers is the "concrete ground." Concrete is widely regarded as the most durable and preferred surface for skateparks due to its smooth roll, consistent feel, and low maintenance. This feature ensures a high-quality skating experience.
Generally Clear of Debris: Despite being an outdoor, public park, reviewers note that the ground is "usually clear of debris." This indicates good maintenance or a respectful user base, which significantly enhances safety and enjoyment.
Variety of Obstacles (Likely): While specific features aren't detailed in the reviews, a "good skatepark" typically includes a mix of elements. Based on common public park designs, it likely features various ramps, rails, ledges, and perhaps a mini-ramp or banks. A separate search for "Dansbury Park skatecourt" (which is the official name for the skate park facilities in Stroudsburg's Dansbury Park) indicates it was converted from old tennis courts in 2003 and includes "ramps and other features." This suggests a basic but functional design.
Respectful and Helpful Community: A standout feature, as highlighted by customers, is the positive social environment. Users have "always been respectful and helpful," which is crucial for a shared public space. This fosters a welcoming atmosphere for newcomers and seasoned skaters alike.
Safety Considerations: As a public facility, it likely adheres to local park regulations regarding safety. While protective gear is usually recommended but not always enforced in public, the "clear of debris" ground contributes to a safer skating environment. Children under a certain age (e.g., 10) may need adult supervision, which is typical for public parks.
Kid-Friendly Peripheral Space: The mention of kids enjoying "the sidewalk inside the perimeter of the fence" suggests a thoughtful design that allows younger children or spectators a safe viewing area, separating them from the active skating zone while still being close to the action.

Stroudsburg Skateboard Park Reviews
This skatepark is one of our favorites to skate at. The ground is concrete, and usually clear of debris, minus the cracks or occasional stones. Everyone we have encountered at the park has always been respectful and helpful as well. My kids enjoy the sidewalk inside the permiter of the fence.

Dec 01, 2020 · JimmyI grew up in this area and then 2 years ago I got a skateboard and needed to find somewhere to start. I then I saw the Stroudsburg Skatepark and started going there. Now that it's closed because of someones immaturity, it upsets me that my favorite park is closed.
