Champion Autism Network Introduce
For families in South Carolina navigating the journey of autism, finding understanding, support, and inclusive opportunities can be truly transformative. The Champion Autism Network (CAN), based in Surfside Beach, stands as a beacon of hope and a vital resource for the autism community across the state. More than just an organization, CAN is a passionate collective dedicated to creating a world where individuals with autism and their families feel accepted, celebrated, and empowered to fully participate in society. Through thoughtfully curated events, valuable resources, and unwavering advocacy, CAN is actively building a more inclusive South Carolina, one memorable experience at a time.
At its heart, CAN is driven by a deep understanding of the unique joys and challenges faced by families on the autism spectrum. This empathy translates into every program and initiative they undertake. Reviews from grateful parents consistently highlight the profound positive impact CAN has on their lives. From facilitating enriching "weekend getaways" that offer unique experiences like symphony visits where children can "conduct along with the real conductor" and even touch instruments, to providing regular "Come Play With Us" activities, CAN ensures that fun and learning go hand-in-hand. These opportunities not only create cherished memories but also foster skill development and social engagement in a supportive environment.
The success and widespread appreciation for Champion Autism Network are largely due to the tireless efforts of individuals like Becky, who are praised for their "amazing job" in putting together impactful events. This dedication extends to fostering strong relationships with "amazing business partners" across South Carolina who are willing to accommodate the autism community. This collaborative approach allows CAN to expand its reach and offer diverse activities, making experiences like enjoying a symphony accessible and enjoyable for children who might not otherwise have such opportunities. For families seeking a supportive community that truly understands their needs and provides enriching, autism-friendly experiences, Champion Autism Network is an indispensable and warmly embraced resource in South Carolina. Their commitment to inclusion and joy resonates deeply with every family they touch.
The Champion Autism Network is centrally located at 839 Surfside Dr Ste 105, Surfside Beach, SC 29575, USA. This address places CAN in a accessible area of Surfside Beach, a popular coastal town in Horry County, South Carolina. Its location in the Grand Strand region makes it convenient for families residing not only in Surfside Beach but also in neighboring communities like Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, Garden City Beach, and Pawleys Island. Surfside Drive is a well-known local road, facilitating straightforward navigation to their office.
For families traveling by car, the suite location within a commercial complex typically offers parking availability, which is a key convenience when visiting an organization that serves families. Easy parking reduces stress and allows for a smoother arrival and departure, which is particularly beneficial for families who may have specific accessibility needs or young children. The area around Surfside Beach is generally well-connected by local roads and highways, including proximity to US Highway 17 Business and US Highway 17 Bypass, which are major routes traversing the Grand Strand. These highways provide essential links for visitors coming from further afield within South Carolina.
While specific public transportation routes serving this precise address might require checking with local transit services (such as Coast RTA in the Myrtle Beach area), the overall infrastructure of Surfside Beach as a developed community usually provides some level of local transport options. However, for many families traveling to CAN events or visiting their office, private vehicle transport is often the primary mode. The combination of a central coastal South Carolina location and reasonable accessibility makes Champion Autism Network a reachable and practical resource for the autism community across the broader region.

Champion Autism Network Reviews
Amazing job Becky on the weekend get away! My son loved it! His favorite part was the symphony. He sat in his seat conducting along with the real conductor. He plays the piano by ear and now he wants a trumpet lol. It was so nice that they let the kids touch the instruments. Good job putting it together Becky!
Feb 06, 2025 · Toni BaxterWe love the activities CAN offers for families on the autism spectrum. "Come Play With Us" is the perfect slogan because we always have fun. Thank you to Becky and the amazing business partners for accommodating the autism community.
Jun 05, 2022 · LaTanya GoodsonCAN is one if the most valuable assets here in South Carolina. Kids on the spectrum like our grandson now enjoy outings, celebrations and social experiences that in typical settings would be an excruciating experience...from outdoor events to holiday events, we are grateful that CAN creates amazing opportunities for kids & families....if you're traveling with a child on the spectrum to Myrtle Beach, include CAN in your plans! They have all the information to insure fun for the entire families, especially families with neuro -diverse kids!
Feb 01, 2023 · Melissa KehoeIf you have a child on the spectrum, have no fear, CAN is here! You can enjoy fun activities and eating out at those places that have been trained on how to work with families with autistic kids. Stone theaters in Market Common routinely have sensory friendly showings of movies which means the lights are not off and the sound is not as loud allowing for the kids to just enjoy themselves. There's also minimum waits times at restaurants like Johnny D's and the Golden Egg restaurant in Surfside. Many century friendly times at the aquarium and trampoline parks. Thank you Becky Large for your vision and making this a reality.
Jun 04, 2022 · Serkan & Maria CankurtaranWe really love CAN for all the fun activities they sponsor for our 10 year old. Movies are the best with Sensory options every month just for the kids! Great way to spend time with my grandson. Opportunities to run, jump, and have fun.
